// Context

Ten weeks to the festival

With ten weeks to go before Glastonbury 2022, the festival needed a new official app so attendees could plan their weekend: what’s on, a personal line-up and maps that show where to go, including offline use on site.

The team worked in sprints and released the app publicly right before the festival. More features followed from user feedback, including artist search, custom map pins and line-up clash detection. The work won Gold at the DMA Awards.

// My contribution

Team, architecture and reviews

I helped build the engineering team, defined the mobile architecture and reviewed the UX and implementation with product and design colleagues.

The hardest technical problems were offline maps and content sync: the line-up and map locations kept changing while we built, and the app had to keep working without a signal.
