About Francesco Petrungaro

I’m Francesco Petrungaro, a Principal Software Engineer, Technical Lead and AI Consultant, and founder of Bytes Cove. I have worked in software for nearly 20 years, including more than 15 years developing mobile apps and leading development teams.

I help companies define technical roadmaps, design software architecture and build products. I work with founders and product teams on priorities, collaborate with designers on UI and user experience, lead developers and write code.

I have worked on products for Formula 1, EE, E.ON, HSBC and Stonegate Group, including during my time at IBM and Digitas. I spent more than a decade working in Ireland and the UK, on projects in banking, payments, energy and sports.

I led the technical direction of apps for iOS, iPadOS and macOS. I worked on local data storage and synchronisation, and integrated AI features that run on the device and use information retrieved from the app.

I also provide AI consulting: helping teams choose where to use AI, build workflows and integrate AI features into their products. My work includes Claude Code, Codex, MCP, coding agents, RAG and local models. I have built workflows for QA issue triage, structured GitHub issue creation and initial code reviews, with clear limits on what the tools can change and checks through builds, tests and human review.

My recent full-stack work includes secure editorial systems built with TypeScript, React, Next.js, Cloudflare Workers and SQL-backed workflows. I have designed role-based access, versioned review flows and GitHub integrations for teams working on structured content.
