Website privacy notice
Version 2026-11-01.1. Updated 1 November 2026.
This notice explains how Bytes Cove processes personal data when you visit bytescove.com, contact us or arrange a meeting. Axio has a separate privacy policy covering the app.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Bytes Cove S.r.l.s., Via delle Allodole VII traversa 3, 87030 Fiumefreddo Bruzio (CS), Italy. VAT number: IT03881570786. For privacy requests, email francesco@bytescove.com.
Browsing, hosting and security
The website is hosted by Aruba and runs on WordPress. Requests to the website can include your IP address, browser and device information, requested address, referring page and request time. Hosting and security systems process this information to deliver pages, detect abuse and investigate errors.
Jetpack Site Accelerator, provided by Automattic, delivers some images, stylesheets and scripts from its content delivery network. Your browser connects to domains such as i0.wp.com and c0.wp.com to retrieve those resources. These requests disclose technical connection data to the provider; they are separate from optional visit statistics.
We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Access controls and authentication services also protect the administration area. They do not require visitors to create an account.
Optional visit statistics
If you allow statistics, Jetpack Stats, provided by Automattic, measures visits and pages viewed. Data can include IP address, visited and referring URLs, timestamp, browser information, language and country. For a visitor already signed in to WordPress.com, a WordPress.com user identifier can also be included. A tracking request can process personal data even when it does not create a cookie.
The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. The statistics script stays blocked until you allow this category. You can withdraw consent through . Withdrawal stops subsequent statistics requests from the page after it reloads. It does not undo processing that has already occurred. See Automattic’s privacy notice and Jetpack Stats privacy information.
Contacting us and booking a meeting
If you email us or contact us through LinkedIn, we use the details you provide to respond, discuss your request and, where relevant, prepare or perform a contract. This can include your name, contact details, organisation and message. Please only send information relevant to your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual requests, or Article 6(1)(f) for other professional correspondence.
Meeting links open TidyCal on its own website. TidyCal collects the booking information you choose to submit under its privacy policy. We use the booking details made available to us to arrange and manage the meeting. Simply opening our contact page does not load an embedded TidyCal booking form.
LinkedIn, app stores and other external links take you to services governed by their own privacy notices. Any later conversation with us remains subject to this notice for the information we receive.
Remembering and recording your choice
Pressidium Cookie Consent runs on our own WordPress installation. A necessary first-party cookie remembers your decision for 182 days. Our server records the consent identifier, decision time, selected categories, notice version and a fingerprint of the banner settings. The latest-choice record also contains the page path and a masked IP address. It excludes URL query parameters and browser user agent. These records help us remember and demonstrate your choice; they are not used to profile you.
We process consent evidence to meet our accountability obligations under Articles 5(2) and 7(1) GDPR, on the basis of Article 6(1)(c). The technical preference cookie is needed to apply the privacy choice you request.
Who can receive the data
Access is limited to authorised people and service providers involved in hosting, security, content delivery, statistics, email and meeting management, where needed for the purposes above. Professional advisers or public authorities may receive information where required by law or necessary to establish or defend legal claims. Suppliers may act as processors or as independent controllers depending on the service. Their own notices describe processing for which they are responsible.
International processing
Some providers, including Automattic and TidyCal, may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where a transfer for which we are responsible requires safeguards, the applicable mechanism must be an adequacy decision under Article 45 GDPR or appropriate safeguards under Article 46, such as standard contractual clauses. You can contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to a particular service and how to obtain a copy.
How long information is kept
Our local consent records are retained for 365 days, with daily scheduled cleanup. The browser preference cookie expires after 182 days unless you renew the choice or delete it sooner. Hosting and security logs are retained according to the provider’s operational and security requirements, with access restricted to the purposes described above.
Correspondence and meeting details are kept for the time needed to deal with the request and any resulting professional relationship. Contractual, accounting or dispute-related records may need to be kept longer to meet legal duties or establish or defend claims. Provider-side retention is governed by the relevant service and its privacy notice; it is separate from our local consent-record retention.
Your choices and rights
Providing contact or booking details is voluntary, but we may be unable to reply or arrange a meeting without the necessary information. Optional statistics can be refused without losing access to the website.
Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your data. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you solely through automated processing on this website.
Send requests to francesco@bytescove.com. We normally respond within one month, with any permitted extension explained to you. You can complain to the Italian data protection authority or your competent supervisory authority.
Changes
We update this notice when the website’s processing changes. If a change requires fresh consent, we will ask before enabling the affected optional processing. The cookie notice explains the controls in more detail.
